GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Field Project Manager has the responsibility of acting as the liaison between the customer and internal departments to resolve issues concerning drawings, repair details, material requisitions, etc. Also, works closely with erection, patching, and caulking subcontractors to oversee and manage the field duties of a project, including but not limited to, layout, access, staging, storage, deliveries, bracing, equipment, personnel, punch list. Other benefits include Health and Family Care leave for both union and non-union employees. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project planning that includes pre-erection and site preparation coordination
- Daily delivery coordination of precast to the jobsite
- Identify project milestones, and potential issues that could affect schedule
- Participate in assisting to establish the basic guidelines that the project will operate within, including erection sequence, critical lifts, rigging procedures and coordination or crane assembly/disassembly
- Review and discuss with the subcontractor foreman the basic guidelines that have been established for each project
- Ensure that each subcontractor crew is executing the game plan for each project
- Act as the knowledgeable resource for any erection related question
- Communicate any changes in scope of work that would cause extra costs
- Manage field repair coordination and field patchers
- Works closely with Project Managers to coordinate and implement all jobsite activities
- Attend jobsite subcontractor coordination meetings and help ensure Wells' interest are protected and communicated.
- Participates in the job site management of subcontractors.
- Keeps Wells management abreast of critical issues and potential jobsite challenges.
- Works closely with precast engineering to ensure the design intent is followed in the field as well as troubleshooting connection and layout issues.
- Participating in coordination with General Contractors and Subcontractors to perform and complete project punch work necessary to close out projects.
- Have an extensive knowledge of precast concrete components and the erection process of a precast project
- Support and Assist in the Supervision of the precast installation process on the job site
- Provide leadership and direction to the field foreman and labor crew
- Promote and ensure safety in every area of the work
- Work closely with the field staff of the General Contractor to facilitate the work
- Perform field checks for precast aesthetics, dimensional and access coordination
- Ensure product is properly aligned vertically and horizontal with survey equipment
- Oversee compliance with company policies, safety procedures, PCI requirements, and OSHA standards
- Write and submit Precast Non-Conformance Reports as necessary to assist in quality control efforts.
- Assist Project Management with conducting early job site visits to coordinate start date, crane & truck access, and project concerns with client
- Participate with Project Management and the General Contractor to determine the proper installation sequence based on the site and precast production schedule to work efficiently
- Complete PCI field audit paperwork and submit in a timely manner.
- Help ensure that precast erection follows the bracing procedures and job specific plan on every project.
- Complete special projects as requested and perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Minimum 5 years of precast erection experience preferred
- 10 years of field construction experience considered
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
- OSHA 30-Hour training required
- Must have interpersonal communication skills to interact with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations
- Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and precast construction drawings necessary
- Proven ability to plan field projects and direct employees
- Ability to read and understand crane charts
- Knowledge of survey equipment
- Must be motivated and self-driven to complete a task
- Ability to build an erection sequence of precast members
- Ability to properly size and locate a crane for the most efficient erection of precast
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office suite required
- Possession of a valid driver's license, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Certification to operate Aerial Lifts
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, occasionally.
- Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently.
- Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages and man lifts at various heights frequently.
