What You'll Do
  • Ensure safety programs are compliant (Injury Illness Prevention, Hazard Identification, Hazard Control and Correction, CMC safety regulations, policies and procedures)
  • Conducts on-site safety inspections to identify hazards and compliance with OSHA and CMCA safety programs
  • Performs branch key performance indicator audits
  • Assists in the investigation of injuries, accidents and safety complaints to determine causes and corrective actions and follow up to assure that action are taken
  • Prepares reports regarding inspections and investigations
  • Provides safety information, consultation, training and support to CMCA facilities such as CPR/FA training, and behavior based safety programs (ORO & RID)
  • Facilitates/lectures/trains employees regarding compliance with OSHA, and CMCA policies and procedures, as needed
  • Assists in DOT Compliance if time and ability allows
  • Implements OSHA compliance at branches including shut down of operations in the event of imminent danger or significant threat to safety or health
  • Works with Regional Safety Manager to determine solutions to safety and health problems and policies to address safety and health issues
  • Participates with local management and safety personnel in regulatory inspections of CMCA facilities
  • Assists in developing job safety analysis and training for specific tasks
  • Provides support and assistance to branch safety coordinators and area safety managers
  • Assists in compliance with visitor control policies throughout the region
  • Performs other duties as assigned
What You'll Need
  • ASSE membership and/or certifications a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate up, down, and across the business
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other business applications.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
  • Must be able to conceptualize, develop, and execute safety initiatives
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort interacting with a variety of employees at all levels of the organization with the ability to influence actions of others
  • Strong skills in the application of accident prevention techniques, safety committee instructor, worker's compensation, effectively addressing physical, behavioral, and administrative contributors to preventing workplace injuries
  • Motivate employees to follow the safety culture through administration of a Proactive Safety Measure program and consistent communication of CMC safety standards
  • Minimum 5 years experience in safety-related field
  • Good Analysis and evaluation skills
Your Education
  • Bachelor's degree required. Industrial/environmental safety or construction management or related discipline preferred.
  • A combination of formal education and/or directly related work experience may substitute for the degree.
  • OSHA 30 Construction
  • OSHA 500/510 Preferred
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED designation a plus.
