The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Job Description

Summary
The Senior Solution Administrator is responsible for ensuring smooth integration, security, compliance, and efficiency of the university's curriculum and assessment solutions.

Job Duties

  • Maintains and optimizes integrations between various technological solutions utilized within the online university's ecosystem.
  • Engages with educational technology stakeholders to ensure alignment of solutions with academic goals and standards.
  • Implements and enforces security and compliance protocols to safeguard sensitive data and uphold regulatory requirements.
  • Develops and executes disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure minimal disruption to operations in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
  • Provides user support and training initiatives to enhance technological proficiency across the university's community.
  • Manages vendors effectively, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and fostering productive partnerships.
  • Conducts integration reviews and provides advisement on potential enhancements or adjustments to existing systems.
  • Takes responsibility for managing more impactful, higher-risk, or complex solutions administration tasks.
  • Assumes higher levels of autonomy and leadership, guiding junior team members and driving initiatives forward.
  • Monitors system performance and optimizes configurations to ensure optimal functionality and user experience.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive policies and documentation pertaining to solution administration processes and protocols.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

KSAs

  • Proficiency in solution management methodologies and best practices.
  • In-depth understanding of educational technology landscape and trends.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks relevant to higher education institutions.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity planning principles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective user support and vendor management.
  • Ability to assess, review, and advise on integration strategies and performance optimization.
  • Capability to develop and document policies and procedures comprehensively.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and refining educational programs, courses, and curricula within the higher education sector.
  • Understanding of accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to program development and institutional compliance.
  • Proven ability to design and assess curriculum effectiveness, learning outcomes, and student engagement strategies, particularly within a Competency-based Education model.
  • Experience with online learning platforms, learning management systems (LMS), and educational technologies used in online and hybrid learning environments.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and principles, including instructional design methodologies tailored to adult learners in diverse academic settings.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with academic departments, faculty members, subject matter experts, and instructional designers to develop and deliver high-quality educational programs.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, and ensure alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to inform program development decisions, assess program efficacy, and identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to articulate program objectives, outcomes, and value propositions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to explore innovative approaches to program development, incorporate emerging technologies, and adapt to evolving trends and student needs in higher education.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience with online learning platforms, learning management systems (LMS), and educational technologies used in online and hybrid learning environments.
  • Experience implementing new technologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Previous experience within a similar environment.
  • Certifications in relevant areas.

Position & Application Details
