Job Summary:

The Advancing the Science of Palliative Care Research Across the Lifespan (ASCENT) Consortium is a national consortium of experts in palliative care that will provide resources, expertise, and coordination to advance innovative, high-quality research to improve palliative care, ultimately improving quality of life for those living with serious illness and those who care for them. This position will be joining a dynamic team, leading the implementation of the goals and priorities of the ASCENT Consortium.

The Scientific Resources Navigator will perform day-to-day operationalization of activities to connect members of the Palliative Care community with ASCENT resources to further their Palliative Care research. This includes the end-to-end management of the consultation program, liaise between investigators requesting consultative services, the Data Coordinating Center, the de-identified data repositories, and other resources with those programs and the ASCENT Leadership. They will also prepare and ensure operationalization of performance improvement plans to address the evolving needs of the field in relationship to the scientific resources of ASCENT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of the consultation program, ensuring seamless coordination between investigators and ASCENT resources in collaboration with the Consultation Lead.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for inquiries and requests for consultative services.

  • Serve as a bridge between investigators, the Data Coordinating Center, de-identified data repositories, and other relevant programs.

  • Facilitate communication between researchers and ASCENT leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

  • Manage day-to-day implementation of activities that connect the PC community with ASCENT resources.

  • Ensure proper handling and utilization of de-identified data repositories in alignment with research objectives.

  • Continuously evaluate and refine the consultation program based on user feedback and scientific advancements.

  • Uphold ethical and regulatory standards in research facilitation and resource navigation.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 1-2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Intermediate Level:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, finance, accounting, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

  • One (1) year of professional level experience in research.

Senior Level:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, finance, accounting, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

  • Two (2) years of professional level experience in research.

Principal Level:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, finance, accounting, business administration, business, or a related field from an accredited institution.

    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

  • Three (3) years of professional level experience in research.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in biomedical sciences, data science, public health, or a related field.

  • Experience in program coordination, research coordination, or scientific resource facilitation.

  • Experience with consultative services within the research or healthcare sector.

  • Experience with collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Understanding of research methodologies and scientific resources.

  • Proficiency in data management tools and research collaboration platforms.

  • Familiarity with de-identified data repositories and data governance best practices.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:

  • Intermediate Level: $51,215 - $65,145

  • Senior Level: $55,367 - $70,427

  • Principal Level: $63,673 - $80,992

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
