DATA STRATEGIST II
The Data Strategist II is a mid-level professional role responsible for independently performing complex data analyses and delivering strategic insights within our financial services organization. Building on strong experience with SQL and Python, the Data Strategist II conducts in-depth exploratory analysis and employs statistical reasoning to investigate business trends, test hypotheses, and identify underlying drivers of performance. They collaborate with cross-functional business teams to frame analytical problems and translate data findings into actionable recommendations that influence business decisions. The Data Strategist II also plays a key role in communicating results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through effective storytelling and data visualization and may mentor junior analysts. This role requires advanced analytical expertise, business acumen, and strong communication skills to drive data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Position Responsibilities:
Data Exploration & Insight Generation


  • Independently conducts deeper analysis and root cause investigation using analytical tools to identify trends, anomalies, and key drivers of business trends.
  • Design analytical approaches or experiments to test hypotheses, applying appropriate statistical methods when relevant.
  • Document findings and ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the analysis process.


Visualization & Reporting


  • Create advanced visualizations and slide presentations to communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Craft clear narratives in presentations or reports that connect analytical insights
    to business context, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Tailor communication of insights to the audience ensuring that stakeholders fully understand the implications of data.


Business Collaboration & Support


  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and define analytical solutions that address strategic business needs.
  • Translate business problems into structured analytical plans, setting appropriate scope and ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations.
  • Collaborate with peers to perform peer reviews to validate analysis methods and ensure code is saved to the shared data repository.
  • Follow team documentation and coding standards.
  • Assist in onboarding new team members to team standards and workflows.


Data Strategy


  • Provides actionable recommendations to improve data integrity, consistency, and completeness across systems.
  • Evaluates and suggests changes to data structures based on analysis findings.
  • Influences the design of database schemas and architecture to better support analytics and business objectives.
  • Collaborates closely with data stewards, data architects, and data governance teams to align recommendations with enterprise standards.

Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or other relevant technology degrees OR High School/GED 8 years progressively responsible experience
  • 4 years of experience in technology and proficiency
  • 3 years of experience leading large, complex/critical technology projects
  • 3 years of experience influencing strategy for large organizations
  • 2 years of experience in data structures and data modeling
  • 2 years of experience in data visualization techniques (Power BI, Tableau)
  • 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office and expanded product lines (Visio, MS Project, SharePoint)
  • 2 years of experience in banking or related industries

Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
