Summary of the Job:

The Commercial Banking Product Leader, Vertical Markets is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing commercial banking products and strategies for specific industry verticals. This role combines deep commercial lending expertise, deposit needs with strategic market analysis to create tailored financial solutions that address the unique challenges and opportunities within targeted industry segments.

About This Role:

Product Strategy & Development

  • Design and develop commercial deposits, lending and treasury products tailored to specific vertical markets (e.g., healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, technology)
  • Create comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new and enhanced product offerings
  • Oversee a portfolio of products and manage them through the product lifecycle
  • Establish product roadmaps aligned with business objectives and market opportunities
  • Collaborate with credit policy and risk management to establish appropriate lending parameters for each vertical

Market Analysis

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of industry verticals to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities
  • Evaluate competitive offerings and maintain market intelligence on industry-specific banking solutions
  • Develop business cases to support new product initiatives with clear ROI projections
  • Monitor economic factors affecting targeted industries and adjust strategies accordingly

Vendor & Relationship Management

  • Own and manage key vendor relationships in support of product relationships
  • Partner with relationship managers to understand client needs within specific verticals
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support complex commercial lending opportunities
  • Develop educational materials for relationship teams on vertical-specific products
  • Facilitate solution-focused discussions with key clients and prospects

Performance Management

  • Track and analyze product performance metrics within assigned verticals
  • Identify opportunities for product enhancements based on performance data
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for vertical market penetration and growth
  • Create regular performance reports for executive leadership

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns for vertical markets
  • Work with operations and technology teams to ensure efficient product delivery
  • Partner with credit and risk teams to balance growth objectives with risk parameters
  • Serve as the organizational champion for assigned vertical markets

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial banking, preferably with product management focus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial lending products and credit structures
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret market data and financial information
  • Excellent project management capabilities
  • Superior communication and presentation skills

Preferred

  • MBA or related advanced degree
  • Previous experience in one or more key vertical markets
  • Product management certification
  • Background in financial analysis or business development

Success Metrics

  • Growth in commercial lending portfolio within assigned verticals
  • Growth in commercial deposit portfolio
  • Increased market share in target industries
  • Revenue and profitability of vertical-specific products
  • Client satisfaction and retention rates
  • Cross-sell ratios within vertical markets
Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.

Compensation:

Compensation range (base pay): $95,857.00-$162,957.00

This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.

Work Environment:

It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week. As part of our team, you'll experience the energy and relationship-building of face-to-face collaboration while still enjoying the flexibility of remote workdays. We provide the tools and technology to ensure seamless transitions between work environments, supporting your productivity wherever you are. Please note that work location is subject to change based on business needs.
