The Job

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing multiple projects within the organization. They lead cross-functional teams, develop project plans, monitor progress, allocate resources, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. In addition, they lead enterprise-level strategic initiatives and special projects that advance health plan performance, provider partnerships, and market growth. Senior Program Managers communicate with stakeholders, identify risks, and implement strategies to mitigate challenges, leveraging their healthcare and health plan experience to drive cross-functional collaboration and inform strategic decision-making. By taking ownership of complex initiatives crucial to SCAN's goals, they play a key role in driving organizational success and achieving strategic objectives.

You Will



  • Executes and oversees programs that meet the needs of the organization, maintaining a high-level view to ensure alignment with enterprise strategy and accountable execution. Participates in all aspects of program delivery, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and performance. Promotes the program throughout the organization and tracks engagement. Supervises the work of program or project staff to ensure that work in completed on time or in accordance with established standards or specifications. Evaluates program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data in support of key performance metrics. Ensures that activities are in compliance with organizational policies and any relevant external regulations. Provides reports and updates to senior leadership or other stakeholders.
  • Serves as leader of authority with expert-level knowledge in one or more areas (particularly healthcare and health plan operations). Makes authoritative decisions and recommendations. Plans, organizes, and guides projects and matrixed employees. May be called on to consult in other areas as needed.
  • Anticipates and mitigates risks across program initiatives, advising senior leadership on project dependencies, barriers, and potential solutions.
  • Takes ownership of special projects and strategic efforts, proactively identifying opportunities to drive value and performance improvements in provider performance, market success, and operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborates closely with internal teams to integrate strategy with operations, ensuring cross-functional alignment and operational readiness.

Your Qualifications



  • At least 5 years of related experience.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Leadership - Skilled to develops others.
  • Business Insight - In-Depth understanding of the business.
  • Optimizes Work Processes - Designs processes that allow managing from a distance.
  • Ability to develop and mentor others.
  • Management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.

  • Project management skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency required in MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SQL, Access.
