Staffmark is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our client's team and support daily financial operations. In this role, you'll assist in preparing and maintaining financial records that track assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax obligations, and other key financial activities. You'll work closely with the Controller and play a vital role in keeping accounting processes accurate and efficient.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:



  • Perform general job costing and maintain the general ledger
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit/loss statements
  • Create invoices, set up accounts, reconcile accounts, and handle month-end closing
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
  • Manage accounts payable, 3-way matching, and payable checks
  • Process bi-weekly ADP payroll, PTO, and employee deductions
  • Assist with audits by providing account information and documentation
  • File federal, state, and local tax forms (CDTFA, DMV, Assessors)
  • Organize job costing under Sage 100 for manufacturing entries (parts usage, PO receiving, stock transfer, MRP)
  • Reconcile customer payments and deposits
  • Support annual physical inventory cycle counts with Purchasing & Shipping departments
  • Perform other related duties as assigned



Qualifications:



  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of related accounting experience required
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial/accounting practices
  • Experience with Sage 100 (or similar ERP system) strongly preferred
  • Manufacturing job costing experience highly valuable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related apps
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift 10-50 lbs
