Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in its traditional and online Master of Public Service degree programs to begin July 1, 2024. We seek candidates for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position who has completed all requirements for the Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a broad range of social science disciplines or cross-disciplinary program areas.
Preference will be given to candidates who are equipped to teach across the in-person and online MPS degree programs, especially in the areas of global development and program evaluation, and who have a record or promise in conducting and communicating research that is relevant to public-service practitioners and scholars. Candidates must also have a commitment to advising and mentoring MPS students. This tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position entails conducting research leading to publication, designing and teaching graduate courses, developing and implementing new methods of teaching to reflect changes in the field, mentoring and advising students, serving on various faculty- and student-oriented committees, providing service on campus and in related professional organizations, and participating in faculty governance.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • We seek candidates who have completed all requirements for the PhD or equivalent degree in a broad range of social science disciplines or cross-disciplinary program areas

  • Candidates must have the ability to teach data analysis or program evaluation.

  • Candidates must have demonstrated ability to teach across the traditional MPS [https://www.clintonschool.uasys.edu/academics/curriculum/core-courses] and the online MPS degree programs [https://www.clintonschool.uasys.edu/academics/curriculum/cso-course-descriptions]

  • Candidates must have a record or research agenda in conducting, communicating, and publishing research that is relevant to public-service practitioners and scholars

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research agenda includes program evaluation, communication, civic engagement, and/or global development

  • Experience with applied or community-based research

  • Ability to teach non-profit subject matter courses

Salary Information:

$70,000 - $80,000
