Responsibilities
Desert View Hospital is a 25-bed, acute care hospital set in a rural community. Desert View provides safe and competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. We provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Job Description: Under the leadership of the Chief Nursing Officer, will assist in providing leadership in implementation of Hospital's Quality Improvement, Risk Management, and Patient Safety Programs. Ensures compliance with all regulatory guidelines and monitors risk and patient safety programs throughout the hospital. Designs, develops, and presents education and process improvement initiatives hospital-wide in order to improve the patient and family experience. Leads the needs assessment process to assure high quality service excellence outcomes. Activities include identifying and placing best practice programs throughout the hospital. Works collaboratively with the board, medical staff and administration teams to deploy the Quality Improvement, Risk, and Patient Safety programs. Responsible for identifying training needs across the company and making recommendations for curriculum content. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field required. Experience: One (1) to Three (3) years clinical experience or Quality and Risk Management experience required. Acute care experience preferred. Technical Skills: Computer proficiency to include at a minimum Microsoft Word, EXCEL, and Outlook, and hospital software programs, as applicable. License/Certification: Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management or attain CPHRM certification within 18 months of date of hire. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality Management or attain CPHQ certification within 18 months of date of hire Other: Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the age of the patient. Knowledge of the Joint Commission Standards, Centers of Medicare Conditions of Participation, Nevada acute care regulations, and the functions of the Nevada Department of Public Health.
