JOB TITLE: The Yurt Experience Server & Guide

DIVISION: Food and Beverage

REPORTS TO: Director of Village Dining

LOCATION: The Yurt at Solitude Mountain

CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time/Seasonal/Hourly

POSITION:

The Yurt Server & Guide plays a vital role in delivering a one-of-a-kind dining experience at The Yurt at Solitude. This position combines elements of fine dining service, outdoor adventure guiding, and logistical support in a beautiful alpine setting. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, knowledgeable in food and wine, and comfortable working in snowy, rugged conditions.

We are looking for someone that is very charismatic, professional, and fun to help engage guests and deliver an "experience". The server will need excellent coordination and people skills to bring our expectation of great customer service to the next level during our guest's dining experience. The Yurt team consists of the server, a chef, and a support person. The Server and support person get the Yurt set up during the afternoon, greet guests in the Village, guide them on snowshoes up to the Yurt, and then host a 4-course high end dinner with the Chef. This small team demands that everyone is flexible, kind, professional, and hard working. We are looking for the unique individual that will work well with our existing team.

SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Demonstrates knowledge of customer service to execute Solitude's standards
  • Ability and willingness to collaborate
  • Communicate with strong verbal skills
  • Must have great problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Willing to work flexible work schedules that include holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain current, valid state-required licenses and or certifications such as Food Handler's Certificate and Sips and Tips
  • Capable of standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Capable of being out in winter weather and able to help haul restaurant items up to Yurt & back down at the end of the night
  • Able to pass our Solitude Vehicle Driving Background check and training


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Greet guests in the Village and coordinate getting guests snowshoes and leaving as a group.
  • Be knowledgeable about the menu and be able to make recommendations and answer guests' questions.
  • Set up the restaurant for dinner service with everything needed stocked.
  • Tableside wine service and bartending
  • Snow removal if needed after Grounds Team comes through
  • Check Port-O-Potties for cleanliness and lanterns.
  • Help host the night with our Chef
  • Run Generator and Pellet Stove
  • Close and clean the restaurant and prepare for food service the next day
