About This Opportunity

JOB TITLE: Sanitation Supervisor
POSITION TYPE: Full time
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt



Day Shift, 5:00AM - 2:00PM (hours may vary slightly)


Position Overview:

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising production floor employees to ensure sanitation compliance within operations at the facility. They will contribute to the organization's success by acting as the contact for all location-specific sanitation operations and practices, ensuring compliance with corporate quality procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

Ensure sanitation activities are performed and completed to effectively optimize manufacturing processes.

  • Develop and implement Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOPs) and ensure employee adherence.

  • Act as a technical resource to address and resolve sanitation inquiries and issues at the facility.

  • Collaborate with chemical suppliers and coordinate sanitary review.

  • Ensure all Clean in Place (CIP) changes are documented and communicated.

  • Review and sign off on all daily CIP washes to verify compliance with established sanitation standards and operational protocols.

  • Oversee the completion of all required production paperwork (records, inventory, inspection, sanitation reports, processing charges, work orders, etc.)

  • Actively engage in the physical aspects of operational processes to identify improvement opportunities, ensure effective training, and perform spot inspections. This includes participating in non-routine sanitation tasks such as equipment teardown and setup to maintain safety and quality standards.

Ensure safety and training in the workplace:

  • Participate in safety efforts including attending safety meetings, incident investigations, assisting in root cause analysis and auditing.

  • Administer company policies and procedures including OSA and safety.

  • Conduct and document sanitation-related employee training.

  • Ensure compliance and administration of company policies and procedures.

  • Oversee manufacturing processes to ensure quality and safety standards are being met.

  • Build a culture of operational excellence:

  • Coordinate shift activities, including the supervision of production associates, between shifts to ensure a smooth and efficient transition.

  • Manage environmental sanitation programs and assist with regulatory inspections and customer audits.

  • Maintain departmental supplies, tools, and equipment.

  • Liaise with other stakeholders to support goals and plans to ensure consistency across all functions.

  • Coordinating special plant-wide functions such as production planning and/or scheduling, sanitation, safety, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma/GED

  2. Knowledge of basic work procedures related to the job

  3. 3 years of job-related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Associate degree in manufacturing or related field, or some related college coursework

Physical Setting:

Job Setting: This position requires regular presence on the plant production floor, in the plant office and lab. The individual will be required to participate on an on-call schedule and work a weekend and holiday rotation.
