Role and Responsibilities

We're looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to keep our logistics running smoothly. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for managing all incoming and outgoing shipments-ensuring everything arrives and departs accurately, on time, and in great condition. You'll handle packaging, labeling, inspecting goods, and operating warehouse equipment, all while maintaining a safe and organized work area.

You'll also support the packing team and step in as a backup delivery driver when needed. This is an entry-level position with strong growth potential, perfect for someone ready to build a career in logistics or warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage incoming and outgoing shipments, including small packages and palletized freight.

* Inspect shipments for accuracy, damage, and appropriate documentation.

* Label and organize customer orders using purchase orders, job cards, or work order receivers.

* Prepare products for shipment through proper packing and palletizing.

* Schedule pickups and coordinate deliveries to ensure timely shipment of goods.

* Communicate with shipping carriers to process and track outbound shipments.

* Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.

* Assist the packing department with packaging tasks when needed.

* Transport materials from receiving or staging areas to the production floor.

* Maintain a clean, organized dock and general shipping/receiving area.

* Report equipment malfunctions and shipping/receiving issues to the manager.

* Serve as a backup delivery driver; maintain accurate vehicle logs when driving.

* Collaborate with other departments to help meet shipping schedules and deadlines.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

The qualified candidate should have a high school diploma. Comprehensive MS Office skills in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are a must. The qualified candidate possess 3 to 5 years in a related field, shipping and receiving experience preferred. The use of a pallet jack, stacker, and forklift will be required, training will be available. The candidate should have great organizational skills.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and walk distances of up to 100 meters between buildings out of doors. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

The candidate will need to have a good driving record and be able to pass a DOT physical.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily in the shipping and receiving area, adjoined to a manufacturing/production area. Limited time in a metal finishing manufacturing environment will be required.
