Position Highlights |
ORP Core Facilities at the University of Arizona is in search of Cryogenic Technician I. The Cryogenics Technician I prepares cylinders and tanks to be filled with cryogenic liquids and gases, for distribution to various campus clients and users in the scientific community. This position requires physical labor and team work while maintaining compliance with safety and regulations. Office of Research and Partnerships (ORP) Core Facilities The University of Arizona is home to a host of research resources called core facilities or cores-highly specialized testing facilities available for use by faculty, students, and scientists in government and industry. These ORP core facilities provide users with access not only to the latest instrumentation but also to experienced staff with expertise in designing and conducting experiments and analyzing data. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Preparing
orders for deliveries, including wrapping Dry Ice, filling liquid cryogenic dewars and loading gas cylinders. - Delivering
cryogenic products to research labs on campus. - Uses
computerized system to generate invoices, receipts and track inventory. - Additional duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Able
to lift and carry 50 to 80 lbs and able to move with a hand cart up to 800lbs.

Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
|
Preferred Qualifications |
- Prior experience working with compressed gasses.
- Class C CDL with a HAZMAT endorsement.
