TITLE: Business Development Manager

LOCATION: Remote

COMP RANGE: $100,000 - $130,000 plus bonus

Griffith Foods is hiring a Business Development Manager (BDM) responsible for achieving sales in the Retail and Food Manufacturer Segments outlined in the annual budget. The BDM is responsible for planning and execution against volume, net sales and contribution margin objectives and is instrumental in initiating and developing new business at targeted accounts within their business segment.

As a Business Development Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Market & Account Planning - Establishes plans, priorities, objectives, and strategies that deliver GFUS objectives within defined corporate goals.
  • Sales/Volume Execution - Achieve/exceed volume & profit goals for targeted customers within their respective territory.
  • New Business Development - Demonstrated ability to turn prospects into customers by leveraging relationships and value-based selling skills.
  • Customer Development - The BDM should penetrate key customers by selling the total Griffith Foods portfolio.
  • Business Development - The BDM will leverage Griffith Foods core capabilities to acquire new customers.
  • Sales Operational Effectiveness - Effectively manage administrative responsibilities including forecasting, S&OP support, account planning, CRM utilization, project management processes, etc.
  • Account Management - Consistent management of forecasting, margins and service levels.
  • Financial Acumen - Ability to read and utilize critical financial data to optimize sales and margin performance.
  • Negotiation - Present, negotiate and implement price adjustments as needed.
  • Sales/Volume Execution - Achieve/exceed volume and profit goals for targeted customers within their respective territory.

The Business Development Manager role is well suited for you if you:

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity. Willingness to take measured risks without prompting.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining business relationships.
  • Account development vs. account management mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years' experience in the food industry.
  • Track record of identifying and growing sales with current and new customers.
  • Experience with customized and private-label food products.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of individuals and functional areas within the company and outside the company.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • This position requires 50% travel.
