Job Description

This role is primarily focused on material handling within the Wire Mill, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of work-in-progress (WIP), raw materials, and finished goods. In addition to core material-handling duties, this position carries added responsibility for maintaining workplace organization, cleanliness, and supporting 5S initiatives. The individual will play a key role in keeping the Wire Mill safe, organized, and running smoothly by combining hands-on material flow management with continuous improvement practices.

Essential Job Functions


  • Safety - Performs all tasks in a safe manner, wearing required PPE and following all safety regulations to include operation of powered industrial vehicles
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, stage, and store materials.
  • Support WIP management to ensure materials are readily available for production.
  • Maintain an orderly and organized workspace by following 5S principles.
  • Take ownership of cleaning, organizing, and sustaining production and storage areas.
  • Assist with warehouse functions as needed, including receiving, inventory support, and staging.
  • Clear communication with coworkers on next shift of priorities and open needs
  • Additional duties as assigned


Requirements

  • Please note: This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), as such, applicants must be a U.S. person defined as a citizen, national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Forklift experience
  • Prior experience in production or warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement practices.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Manufacturing systems knowledge
  • Ability to read charts and document numbers
  • Very comfortable with computer and able to use basic MS Office programs and local systems
  • Customer Focused with a Sense of Urgency
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.


Work Environment/Physical Demands:
