Description

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Summary:This positionplays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of Trident's HR processes.Strong written and verbal communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a continuous desire to learn are essential for success in this role.

Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs)

  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR inquiries, providing exceptional customer service to callers and in-person visitors with a consistently positive and helpful attitude.
  • Communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person to provide information about job opportunities, application status, company facilities, and work environment to current and prospective applicants.
  • Collaborate with the HR Operations team to handle pre- and post-employment administrative processes, including:
    • Pre-employment screenings (drug tests, background checks, medical questionnaires)
    • DOT and non-DOT random drug screening coordination
    • Employment verification
    • I-9 compliance and documentation
  • Accurately update and maintain applicant records and screening results in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Support HR administrative functions such as filing, record management, and HRIS data entry. Prepare and organize documents for digital archiving.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental goals.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a hourly pay rate range of $30 to $36 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources or a related administrative role
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Fluency in Spanish (spoken and written) is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in customer service roles (minimum 50% of time) and handling high-volume administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and HR-related software systems

Preferred education and experience:

  • Handling high-volume administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with HRIS systems (Dayforce) and recruitment platforms and applicant tracking systems
  • Familiarity with HR policies, labor laws, and best practices

Work Environment

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.

Physical/Mental demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time at a desk. Frequently required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee will occasionally stand, walk, and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision for frequent use of a computer.
