About This Position

The Inventory Team Member position will have a direct impact on customer satisfaction and product losses.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Packaging, shipping, and tracking merchandise for customers and/or vendors.
  • Receiving merchandise into inventory as it arrives.
  • Ensure new merchandise received matches vendor invoices.
  • Flexibility in regard to assisting in other areas around the warehouse.
  • Maintaining and improving the company's inventory situation by analyzing inventory statistics to determine which products are selling and which are not.
  • Allocating inventory to the correct departments as it comes into the warehouse.
  • Performing extensive research on a wide range of inventory-related reports.
  • Performing regular inventory counts.
  • Works with other teams including sales, shipping, and purchasing.
  • Ensures that inventory counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating with other workers to resolve discrepancies between inventory and revenue.
  • Other duties as assigned.Avoid product expirations/obsolesce to minimize inventory losses and ensure that customers are shipped product with best possible shelf life.
  • Maintain adequate level of stock in picking locations for Freight Pullers and KCN Stockers.
  • Monitor inventory levels to avoid out of stock situations and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Rotate overstock in freight aisles.
  • Report and correct the following:
    • Incorrect marked pallets (e.g., receiving/expiration dates & product numbers).
    • Soon to expire and remove expired products from overstock/picking locations.
    • Misplaced items or improperly labeled picking positions.
    • Mixed Pallets, mis-received items, and damaged cases/items.
  • Assist Inventory Coordinator in Locating Stock.
  • Verify receiving & expiration dates are written on pallets, product numbers are accurate and clearly written on pallets.
  • Check Expiration dates and note soon to expire and expired products.
  • Report any misplaced items or improperly labeled picking positions.
  • Verify proper rotation of product- (first in-first out).
  • Assist with Liquidating overstocked, expired and obsolete inventory.
  • Back-up stock dropper.
  • Assist with product returns to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Other duties as determined by the needs of the business.

What You'll Need

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and familiarity with inventory management.
  • Order filling experience PREFERRED.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Forklift experience PREFERRED.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with computers (including Microsoft Office programs).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to resolve problems.
  • Strong time management skills and prove of ability to meet deadlines.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime on little or no advance notice.
  • ABILITY TO WORK: Monday - Friday, 7 am - 3:30 pm.
