Overview: ARES Corporation is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support NASA's Orion Program and broader NASA human spaceflight initiatives. This position is a key contributor to Cross Program Ground Support Equipment (GSE) integration/coordination and Launch Commit Criterial (LCC) . The selected candidate will lead and manage the delivery, integration, and verification of critical hardware and systems supporting Artemis missions. Responsibilities:
- Lead the coordination and delivery of Orion Program GSE, Data Agreement Exchanges, and CSM (Crew/Service Module) Flight Installation Kits supporting the integration of the spacecraft.
- Support the Moon to Mars (M2M) Agreements Team, including the development and closure of AR-02 and AR-03+ agreement exchanges.
- Track and manage Agreement Exchanges in the Cross-Program Interdependencies Database (CPID) and the M2M Agreements Exchange (MAX) tools to ensuring timely delivery, fit-checks, and DD-250 acceptance for use at Kennedy Space Center (KSC) and other NASA facilities.
- Collaborate with Orion's Prime Contractor, NASA Engineering Ground Systems (EGS), and other stakeholders to resolve delivery issues, hardware modifications, and interface challenges.
- Oversee the development and deployment of digital tools such as the MAX Agreement Exchange Tool and associated training materials.
- Monitor and support the fabrication, modification, and return of hardware such as CM/SM installation kits, protective covers, and potable water systems.
- Lead the Orion coordination efforts to develop and approve Cross Program LCCs which are the single authoritative requirement source for verifying the Artemis vehicle launch configuration supports mission objectives.
- Manage the development of the LCC's in the LCC Management System (LMS) software application which is the repository and database application that will manage activities associated with all LCC authoring, LCC Changes Notices (LCNs) processing, and LCC Deviations and Wavers (D/W) processing.
- Provide technical leadership in planning, integration, and verification & validation (V&V) activities for Orion and related programs.
- Maintain SharePoint documentation and support process improvement initiatives for hardware tracking and delivery workflows.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field (STEM discipline).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on hardware integration and delivery in human spaceflight programs.
- Demonstrated experience managing hardware transfers and integration
- Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with NASA programs such as Orion, Gateway, ISS, or HLS.
- Familiarity with NASA's Orion Program, Artemis missions, and associated ground systems.
- Familiarity with NPR 7123.1 and NASA systems engineering processes.
- Demonstrated experience managing GSE hardware deliveries, Cross Program Agreement Exchange tracking, and coordination.
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification.
- Experience with digital tools for systems engineering and agreement tracking (e.g., MAX, DOORS, Confluence).
- Master's Degree in Systems Engineering or related field.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
- Must pass drug screening and background checks.
