THE ROLE
Our site in Aurora, IL is seeking a/an EHS Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2026 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated EHS Co-Op to join our Environmental, Health & Safety team. This role will provide hands-on experience supporting key safety and compliance initiatives while contributing to our organization's overall safety culture. The co-op will assist with ongoing projects, audits, and employee engagement activities tied to our defined EHS objectives.
What You'll Do
*Support the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs, focusing on:
*Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
*Machine guarding initiatives
*Ergonomic risk assessments and improvements
*Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
*ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management) systems
*Assist in conducting audits, inspections, and gap analyses related to the above objectives.
*Participate in EHS training development and employee engagement initiatives to promote a strong safety culture.
*Collect, analyze, and present EHS data to support performance metrics and reporting.
*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement corrective and preventive actions.
*Provide general support to the EHS department as assigned.

*Strong interest in workplace safety, health, and environmental management.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
*Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year
*Environmental, Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
*Ideally a Junior or Senior in their given program but will consider Sophomores if they have requisite coursework in Occupational Health and Safety.
Eligibility
*Must be a currently enrolled student
*Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June.
*Must be familiar with the universities requirements to participate in a co-op program
*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work in an industrial environment and wear required PPE (including safety glasses, safety footwear, a hardhat. Role may require working outside of standard business hours to support shift work.
