FACILITIES PROJECT ENGINEER

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director of Facilities Management, the Facilities Project Engineer provides support and assistance to the Executive Director of Facilities Management for the operations for Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) facilities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares and negotiates DWIHN contracts, including researching terms and considering stipulations and negotiations.
  • Ensures that all parties adhere to the terms of the contract and that the contract supports DWIHN's goals.
  • Reviews contracts to ensure they comply with company policies, regulations, and laws
  • Coordinates and communicates with contractors, stakeholders, and others.
  • Maintains records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress.
  • Ensures that procurement activities are efficient and effective and aligned with DWIHN goals.
  • Creates, analyzes, negotiates, and executes an array of contracts for various transactions.
  • Assists in DWIHN board actions and tracks DWIHN board actions from creation to completion.
  • Inputs and manages the contract approval process and invoicing utilizing Cobblestone, ReqLogic and Dynamics GP.
  • Works in a contract administrative role and ensures that the paperwork is drafted and implemented according to DWIHN procurement policies.
    • Assists the Facilities Executive Director in planning budgets.
    • Assist in Construction Project Administration.
    • Serves as the Administrator of the CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System).
    • Procures Operation/Construction contract for Facilities
    • Assist in Contract Budgets/Schedules.
    • Assists in Future Asset and Project Planning.
    • Provides Project Management oversight.
    • Assists in implementing safety and related items at all worksites.
    • Maintains current records for all state, federal and insurance semiannual and annual inspections.
    • Assists in the coordination of building space renovation, allocation and layout,
    • Assists with communication services.
    • Assists with facility expansion and the addition of new DWIHN facilities.
    • Oversees contractors to ensure that assignments are carried out to completion.
    • Works as directed and assigned by the Executive Director with contracted employees on individual job sites.
    • Performs related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Public Administration, Business Administration, Project Management or a related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) years of commercial construction experience.

OR

Two (2) years of facilities operations experience.

REQUIRED LICENSE(S).

A valid State of Michigan Driver's License with a safe and acceptable driving record.
