What We're Looking For: The Room Service Captain oversees the delivery of exceptional in-room dining experiences by managing daily operations, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring effective collaboration between the kitchen, bar, and service teams. With a strong emphasis on maintaining high service standards, providing leadership, and addressing challenges promptly. Who You Are:
- Knowledgeable in quality Room Service techniques and standards
- Able to achieve Certifications: "Certified Food Service Handler", "TIPS" or equivalent
- Possess effective leadership, management, organizational and communication skills
- Strong focus on providing outstanding service to guests and enhancing their experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays
What You Will Do:
- Oversee daily in-room dining operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of orders to guest rooms.
- Monitor the quality of food presentation, tray setup, and delivery processes to meet hotel standards.
- Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and front desk teams to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Greet guests courteously, address their inquiries or special requests, handle guest complaints professionally, and ensure satisfaction
- Lead, motivate, and support room service servers and order takers during shifts.
- Assist with training new staff members and manage daily staff assignments.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate goals, menu updates, and guest preferences.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of room service supplies and ensure proper equipment handling and maintenance.
- Follow and enforce safety, sanitization, and hotel policies throughout operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Experience Includes:
- One year in-room dining or food and beverage experience in high volume, quality hotel operation
- Thorough knowledge of quality room service techniques and standards
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and customer-oriented attitude.
- Ability to lift and carry food service trays weighing 35 plus pounds.
- Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
