Production Manager

STS Technical Services is hiring a Production Manager in Stafford, Virginia. This role leads the production of electro-mechanical systems with a strong focus on precision, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in Lean Six Sigma and 5S methodologies while managing assembly lines for complex systems.

The Production Manager will oversee daily assembly line operations, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining strict compliance with quality and safety standards. This role requires hands-on leadership in implementing Lean Six Sigma, handling ESD-sensitive components, managing kitting processes, and coordinating work order execution in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. UAV, defense, or aerospace assembly experience is highly preferred.

• Lead daily operations of the assembly line to meet production goals
  
• Implement and sustain Lean Six Sigma and 5S practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  
• Ensure compliance with ESD protocols and safe handling of sensitive components
  
• Oversee kitting processes and ensure timely availability of materials for production
  
• Coordinate and monitor work orders, ensuring accurate and timely execution
  
• Maintain high standards of precision assembly and quality assurance
  
• Supervise, train, and mentor production staff to build a culture of safety and continuous improvement
  
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve issues and optimize workflows
  

• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing an assembly line for electro-mechanical systems in a high-mix, low-volume environment
  
• Proven expertise in Lean Six Sigma and 5S implementation
  
• Strong understanding of PCBAs, ESD protection, and precision assembly practices
  
• Experience managing kitting and work order execution in ERP systems
  
• Proficiency in production planning and ERP tools such as Business Central or SAP
  
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  

• UAV manufacturing experience
  
• Defense and aerospace systems assembly experience
