Directs operations for the support services departments of the organization. Consults with staff, physicians, other members of leadership, and the COO on operational support matters. Interprets and implements regulatory standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Organizes support service departments' policies and procedures which are developed to serve the Mission, Vison, and strategic plan of KRMC.
- Demonstrates competency in the operational support service departments of Environmental Services, Nutrition Services, Facilities, Business Office, and Safety and Security.
- Builds and leads a culture of teamwork and respect throughout areas of responsibility and across departments, engaging effectively with all stakeholders. (i.e., physicians, staff, outside contractors)
- Provides coaching, leadership and mentorship in the development of managers and staff.
- Develops standards of performance, assigns accountability and delegates authority to the various managerial, supervisory and professional members of the staff of support services departments.
- Develops People, Service, Quality, and Sustainability goals, capital budgets, and labor productivity targets with department managers, monitors performance, and makes appropriate changes as necessary.
- Ensures each departments' goals align with the organization wide quality improvement program.
- Recommends modifications, additions, or deletions to staffing plans across the areas of responsibility to ensure reasonable hours and acceptable working conditions to provide optimal support to stakeholders.
- Effectively leads and administers the performance appraisal system.
- Gives routine feedback, conducts annual performance reviews for department managers, and works in collaboration with HR and the senior leadership team to ensure the reward and recognition system is competitive.
- Directs, along with Human Resources, effective resolution related to employee and labor management issues.
- Maintains good interdepartmental and intradepartmental relationships by providing the highest level of services, management assistance, and open communication.
- In collaboration with the management team, implements and/or revises policies, and procedures to maintain compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred.
- Must have experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
