Summary:

Leads and coordinates activities of shipping personnel engaged in lifting, transporting, storing, and loading material to ship product to customers and suppliers. Follows procedures and SOP's as to adhere to strict packaging requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists and oversees the packaging of items.
  • Stores and reviews daily shipping photo files.
  • Reviews packing slips and commercial invoices for both domestic and international shipments.
  • Review contracts necessary for the packaging and shipment of hardware.
  • Understands the MIL PAC standards and requirements for Government contracts
  • Understands the use of government forms - DD250, DD1149 and DD1348.
  • Studies receiving or shipping notices, requests for movement of raw materials and finished products, and reports of stockroom space available to develop schedule for material handling activities.
  • Confers with supervisors of other departments to coordinate flow of materials or products into shipping.
  • Prepares purchase requisitions for department supplies.
  • Checks and orders packaging material inventory.
  • Studies schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets job orders and assigns duties for packaging and shipping.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve material handling methods, equipment and systems performance, and operating procedures.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals via continuous improvement.
  • Pass and hold forklift certification
  • May on occasion need to drive company vehicle.
  • Maintains records as required.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised
  • Acts as a lead and oversees the work of other non-exempt employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills:

  • High school diploma. Two year degree preferred
  • 10 years of related experience, with 3 years in a lead/supervisory role
  • Knowledge of PCs and software, Excel & Outlook a must
  • Ability to interact with varying levels of management, subordinates, co-workers and customers as needed
  • Experience handling electronic and electro-static sensitive material
  • Ability to interpret Military Standards for packaging instructions preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
