Procurement Department

The Procurement team is responsible for securing the equipment Vantage's data centers require to function. The team leads these efforts from conception through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, New Site Development, and Engineering along the way. Procurement also works closely with vendor partners to come up with a vertically integrated design, and we manage these partners to deliver the projects on schedule and budget. Vantage is unique in that our technical staff is given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process. Our internal team can align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals. This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high- impact decisions and even more impactful results.

Position Overview

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Port Washington, Wisconsin.

Vantage is looking for a Field Coordinator to serve as the boots-on-the-ground leader for all OFCI (owner-furnished, contractor-installed) equipment for data center construction in Port Washington, Wisconsin. This role is focused on driving day-to-day activities for equipment delivery, tracking, staging, inspections, and technical support, while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule performance. The OFCI equipment lead will be the go-to site lead for contractors and internal stakeholders alike.

Essential Job Functions

Vendor and Supplier Management:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between supply chain partners and internal stakeholders, communicating changes in product lead-times and costs.

  • Maintain and develop supplier relationships, negotiating the best-landed price with primary and secondary vendors as applicable.

Project Coordination:

  • Analyze project schedules to determine on-site equipment delivery dates and ensure timely delivery.

  • Schedule and coordinate on-site start-up and commissioning support services from vendors.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure transparency of specifications and operational requirements.

Site Leadership/Project Coordination

  • Serve as the on-site liaison for all OFCI-related field activities, providing day-to-day direction to general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.

  • Drive project-level tasks and milestones assigned by the project management team.

  • Support commissioning and project turnover by ensuring all construction deliverables are complete and compliant.

  • Maintain accountability of trade partners in the field through daily interface, punch-list tracking, and coordination meetings.

  • Work closely with commissioning teams, operations, engineering, and vendor partners to ensure cohesive on-site execution for equipment startup and commissioning.

Schedule Management

  • Support the weekly and daily delivery schedules for OFCI equipment, proactively resolving conflicts and removing roadblocks to maintain progress.

  • Provide real-time updates to project leadership on schedule status, risk items, and site performance.

Quality Control

  • Ensure that equipment inspections are completed timely and recorded properly.

  • Support the OFCI Procurement manager by ensuring that contractors communicate equipment issues and escalate any issues with materials, workmanship, or schedule impact to the Procurement Manager.

  • Oversee staged OFCI equipment to ensure proper storage and maintenance prior to installation

Safety Enforcement

  • Champion job site safety through daily walks, safety meetings, and enforcement of all health and safety policies and procedures.

Additional Duties:

  • Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Procurement, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent field experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a supply chain, procurement, or construction is required.

  • Data Center or industrial equipment experience is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with construction and supplier contracts.

Skills:

  • Proven ability to lead subcontractors, manage site logistics, and maintain control over fast-paced, high-pressure environments

  • Understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) equipment and field installations, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications

  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training preferred

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

  • Ability to read construction documents, interpret schedules, and manage field activities with minimal supervision

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Technical aptitude of mechanical and electrical systems

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves.
