This position requires a highly reliable and versatile individual to serve as a Production Operator and a vital Backup Class A Shuttle Driver. You will spend your time dedicated to plant productivity, but you must be ready to transition quickly to a driving role to maintain a seamless supply chain. This is the perfect opportunity for a CDL A holder who excels in a structured plant environment but values the flexibility of being behind the wheel.

  • CDL-A Transport & Logistics: Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle to shuttle various compressed gas and liquid containers between company branches, ensuring compliance with all DOT and federal regulations, including thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIRs).

  • Cylinder Staging & Material Handling: Accurately load and unload cylinders onto vehicles using a forklift based on load sheets, and move cylinders and materials to and from designated staging areas within the plant.

  • Safety, Compliance, and Documentation: Maintain the highest standard of safety in all operations. This includes managing load manifests and vehicle documents, and ensuring all cylinders receive correct labeling, warning tags, and identification to meet compliance standards.

  • Cylinder Quality and Maintenance: Examine cylinder exteriors for defects (dents, cracks), quarantine non-compliant units, and perform necessary maintenance like changing or adjusting cylinder valves with specialized tools.

  • Cylinder Refurbishment Process: Engage in the full refurbishment cycle, which involves scraping labels, operating a bead blaster to remove old paint, cleaning cylinders, and applying new coats of paint.

  • Professional Representation & Schedule: Act as a professional representative by communicating effectively with branch personnel while benefiting from a Monday through Friday schedule that is primarily designed to be home nights.

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent, verifiable Class A CDL driving experience within the past 5 years is a mandatory requirement. Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • License: A current and valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A) is required. Hazmat endorsement is required. The ability to obtain your Tanker endorsement is needed, contingent upon an offer of employment.

  • Safety Awareness: Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety, especially in a loud industrial environment.

  • Detail Oriented: Ability to pay attention to minute details for both vehicle logs/manifests and cylinder inspection/labeling tasks.

  • Physical Stamina: Must regularly lift up to 75 pounds and move more than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment (essential for in-plant operations).
