Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst, Operations is responsible for leading Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) forecasting, analysis, and reporting within the Screening business unit. This role partners with laboratory and operations leadership to identify cost drivers, increase operational efficiency, and improve forecast accuracy. Reporting to the Director of Business Unit Finance, the position requires strong collaboration with both finance and operational teams to deliver actionable insights that enhance performance and profitability.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Build and maintain accurate, driver-based Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) forecasting models that align with operational and financial objectives.
  • Partner with laboratory and operations leadership to identify cost drivers, evaluate performance trends, and develop actionable recommendations to improve efficiency.
  • Provide timely analysis and insights to support fact-based decision-making, assessing both operational effectiveness and the economics of key business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with finance and cross-functional partners to understand business needs, challenge assumptions, and translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Communicate recommendations succinctly and effectively across verbal, written, and visual formats to drive alignment and informed decision-making.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for cost savings and process optimization.
  • Lead the adoption of AI and other advanced tools to enhance financial planning and reporting capabilities.
  • Drive automation and system improvements that streamline financial analysis, reporting, and data accessibility for business leaders.
  • Support audits and regulatory filings as needed.
  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Act with an inclusion mindset and model inclusive behaviors across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • At least 3-5 years of progressive financial related experience demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively with operational or support functions. Strong analytical and financial modeling skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate critical thinking.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Ability to work in the details as well as review the big picture.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; especially Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning, with a focus on COGS and operational efficiency.
  • Deep understanding of COGS components, cost drivers, and underlying business processes within a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex operational and financial data into actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and influence stakeholders.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable to evolving business needs.

Salary Range:

$89,000.00 - $151,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
