Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (
RSDM) is seeking a full-time, tenured, Associate Professor in Population Oral Health, within the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Community Health.
This position aims to advance RSDM's commitment to innovation, and community impact in oral health research. The position aligns directly with the School's mission to improve the oral and systemic health of individuals and communities through excellence in education, patient care, research, and public service.
We are seeking a visionary scholar and accomplished research leader with a focus on dental public health, pragmatic clinical trials, and population-based oral health interventions. The successful candidate will join a collaborative research community within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (
RBHS) and contribute to RSDM's strategic goals of integrating population health, precision science, and interprofessional collaboration to reduce disparities and improve health outcomes across New Jersey and beyond. |

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, ScD, or equivalent) in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, dental research, or a related field.
- Evidence of a strong, sustained record of peer-reviewed publications and extramural funding as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator.
- Demonstrated experience in oral health, population science, or translational research.
- Strong record of interdisciplinary collaboration and community engagement.

- Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, ScD, or equivalent) in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, dental research, or a related field.

| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Ten or more years of research experience in academic or public health settings.
- Proven success leading federally funded research programs exceeding $10M in cumulative support.

- Experience mentoring graduate students, residents, and early-career faculty.
- Expertise in adaptive trial design, health services research, or secondary data analysis.
- Familiarity with school-based health systems, Medicaid data, or machine learning applications in public health.

Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
