Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Grants and Contracts Analyst
III for the Center for NeuroMetabolism, Child Health Institute of New Jersey at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction of the Business Administrator, the Grants and Contracts Analyst
III is responsible for the day-today support of all projects, grants, contracts, and other restricted accounts and related functions associated with research, sponsored programs, and restricted funds activities for the Center for NeuroMetabolism (
CNM). The primary responsibility of the Grants Administrator is pre-award and post-award administration of grants, contracts, and other restricted funds for the
CNM. Ensures sponsored research activities are in compliance with the policies and procedures of Rutgers University and federal, state, foundation, corporate, and other agencies. A priority of this position will be pre-award functions.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Assists in the preparation and submission of proposals to federal, state, foundation, corporate, and other sponsors.
- Ensures compliance with Rutgers University policies and procedures (Office of Research and Sponsored Programs [ORSP], Office of Corporate Contracts) and with external sponsor requirements.
- Processes all required documentation through the Research Administration and Proposal Submission System (RAPSS).
- Ensures proposals are submitted in adherence to ORSP deadlines.
- Enters proposal information into the RWJMS grants database.
- Provides guidance to faculty, administrators, and staff on grant applications.
- Provides budget status reports, transaction reports, projections, and other financial analyses to PIs, Business Administrators, Department Chairs, and the RWJMS Finance Office.
- Reconciles accounts and ensures expenditures are accurate and allowable.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field required.
- Two (2) years of experience in grants or budget are required.
- Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.

- Knowledge and expertise in Federal and State agency regulations, policies, procedures, and laws applicable to sponsored programs activities.
- Understanding of proposal development, funding mechanisms, Institutional Review Board (IRB) regulations, and other grant-related processes.
- Outstanding human relations and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment required.
- The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have effective oral and communication skills.
- Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
