Assistant Controller

Position Overview:

Sonac is looking for an Assistant Controller with a strong background in manufacturing and proficiency in data analysis and MS Office applications. The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of manufacturing experience and preferably knowledge of SAP accounting software. Experience with JDE is a plus.

The Assistant Controller position is responsible for assisting the Regional Controller in all duties ranging from data entry to annual budgets and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial statements and related reports including balance sheets, budgets, cost analysis, variance analysis, etc.
• Assist in tracking capital projects and maintenance budget.
• Assist in preparing and presenting financial dashboards and reports to management
• Assist in annual budget proposal and monthly budget reviews
• Assist with invoice entry and payments.
• Assist with setting up new vendors and customers.
• Assist in company strategic planning and special projects as required
• Handle intercompany transactions.
• Process General Ledger reconciliations and Journal entry transactions.
• Update standard costing each week.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly SOX reviews.
• Update weekly and monthly HFM figures

General Proficiencies:

• Strong background in Excel.
• Detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
• Knowledgeable in GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Capable of performing data analysis to draw important conclusions about the business financials.
• Cross-department communication and cooperation skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 5 years of manufacturing experience in Accounting/Finance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAP accounting software knowledge.
• JDE experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
• Occasionally lifts up to 10 lbs.
• Long periods spent sitting at a desk in front of a computer screen.
• Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in an office environment.
