The Role

As the Compliance and Data Analytics Associate, you'll be integral to our work in helping vulnerable children achieve a brighter future. You will have primary responsibility for donor communications and data analytics related to Save the Children's efforts to combat fraud, waste, and abuse and to ensure the safety of program participants. The Compliance and Data Analytics Associate will also provide support to Save the Children's Audit & Risk Management Committee and perform additional duties as requested.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties) *Not inclusive of all role responsibilities, may be subject to change

Counter-fraud & Safeguarding Incident Management (60%)



  • Independently engage in sensitive communications with internal and external stakeholders including donors and Offices of Inspectors General on topics related to Save the Children's efforts to combat fraud, waste, and abuse and to ensure the safety of all participants in its programs;


  • Escalate high risk matters to the Associate General Counsel and/or Deputy General Counsel as needed;


  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships with relevant stakeholders.


Data Management & Analytics (30%)



  • Act as an administrator for SCUS' case management system, ensuring all data is kept clean and up-to-date to support and improve current and future data analysis;


  • On an as-needed and periodic basis, analyze data to identify, monitor, and escalate issues, trends and/or risks to relevant stakeholders;


  • Prepare reports and presentations for delivery to audiences at all levels, using Agency tools and techniques including generative AI tools to visualize data in easy-to-understand formats.


Audit & Risk Management Committee Support (5%)



  • Attend, prepare materials for, and document the minutes of Save the Children's Audit & Risk Management Committee.


Other (5%)



  • Provide general paralegal support to the Office of General Counsel including legal support work as delegated by attorneys;


  • Apply knowledge and best practices to improve the function by maintaining and developing SOPs for case management, communications, and reporting.


Required qualifications for the role



  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent plus at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the Humanitarian and Development Sector including, but not limited to, experience in INGOs and/or US Government agencies administering federal funds.
  • Proven experience in data analytics and reporting.
  • Proven experience in effective oral and written communications involving sensitive topics.
  • Proven ability and continued commitment to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact and discretion.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Proven critical thinking skills and comfort with independent judgment around matters requiring discretion.
  • Proven experience and continued willingness to engage with new technologies, including generative AI, and professional proficiency in MS Office suite and PowerBI.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15%.



Preferred qualifications for the role



  • Experience administering case management systems.


  • Knowledge of incident reporting requirements related to U.S. government grants and contracts and experience analyzing and interpreting grant and contract terms and conditions.


  • College degree and/or Compliance Certification



Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:



  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $66,300 - $74,100 base salary


  • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $60,350 - $67,450 base salary


  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $54,400 - $60,800 base salary


The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record. Actual base salary may vary based on, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here).
