Summary of Position Functions
The Electrical Intern will assist the Manager of Electricians and field teams in supporting energy-saving projects, electrical system audits, and efficiency upgrades. This role is ideal for a motivated student or early-career professional pursuing a degree or certification in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field who wants hands-on experience in sustainable energy practices.

Essential Position Functions

  • Assist the Manager of Electricians in planning and coordinating electrical installation, maintenance, and upgrade projects.
  • Support the documentation of electrical systems, including circuit layouts, panel schedules, and load calculations.
  • Participate in energy audits, data collection, and performance measurements of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Help analyze and interpret energy usage data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Assist in preparing project reports, material lists, and cost estimates.
  • Observe and assist licensed electricians during installation and retrofit projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, materials used, and work progress.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and local electrical codes.
  • Support research and implementation of emerging energy-saving technologies and practices.

Education and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or on to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and energy efficiency principles.
  • Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, Excel, or energy analysis software (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety and sustainability.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid driver's license.

Travel Requirement

  • Local travel may be required.
