The primary purpose of this Research Technician position is to independently carry out procedures, already established and in development, to investigate the mechanisms of kidney injury in sickle cell trait and disease.

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Knowledge and ability to independently conduct:
- Animal work (colony maintenance, husbandry, genotyping, injections, tissue harvest, metabolic cages)
- Cell culture
- Histology (processing tissues, staining, visualizing, quantifying)
- General lab duties
- General biochemical and molecular assays
A basic knowledge of data analysis and bio-statistical analysis is necessary.

Renal physiology background and kidney-related laboratory work is preferred.
