Overview

Milliman's Indianapolis Health practice is seeking a Healthcare Management Associate to join our growing healthcare management consulting team. In this role, you will collaborate with consultants, data analysts, and other colleagues, to develop and operationalize management consulting business sustainability and growth strategies. You will be responsible for developing client engagement strategies, marketing materials, analyzing operational and financial data, and identifying opportunities for growth with new and existing client accounts. In addition, you will participate in complex client engagements, coordinate cross-functional teams, and help ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope. You will also support the team with quality assurance and review. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong organizational and interpersonal skills. This position is designed for an early careerist who is eager to learn, grow, and build subject matter expertise in management consulting and the U.S. healthcare industry.

Example projects include:



  • Conduct a market study to evaluate the feasibility of launching a new product
  • Conduct clinical program evaluations to identify and design program improvements
  • Help a state government agency develop a strategy for designing a new health program
  • Assisting in implementing large scale programs for public and private sector clients
  • Evaluate a client's administrative operations to identify opportunities to improve efficiency
  • Assessing a client's clinical programs and analytic models
  • Write a proposal to help a client win a new block of business
  • Helping a client prepare for accreditation or meet government requirements


Responsibilities

In this role, you will:



  • Utilize your analytical, written, and verbal communication skills to answer data-driven questions on key topics in the healthcare industry
  • Analyze internal and client data to summarize findings through presentations, spreadsheets, data visualizations, financial and budgetary reports, and other reports
  • Develop and track progress on detailed project plans and reliably communicate project status with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with a wide-ranging array of professionals to develop data-driven healthcare management marketing materials and relevant client engagement materials
  • Coordinate project reviews and quality assurance procedures
  • Plan, execute, and oversee multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with client goals and Milliman standards
  • Foster collaboration and ensure effective coordination across departments to achieve project objectives
  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality in project delivery
  • Collaborate with the management consulting team to ensure quality risk management standards and processes are being met
  • Develop client engagement materials and messaging to foster strong relationships


Qualifications

  • Strong listening skills, curious and eager to learn when faced with an unfamiliar subject
  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Passionate about building trusted relationships with both external clients and internal colleagues
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar)
  • Interested in developing a diverse skill sets and taking on a variety of responsibilities across projects


    Required



    • Bachelor's degree in business, management, finance, marketing, or a related field, or currently enrolled in a degree program and will have graduated with the ability to begin full-time employment on or before January 1, 2026
    • 0 to 3 years of professional work experience
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
    • Strong interest in healthcare and consulting


    Preferred



    • Master's degree in business, management, finance, marketing, or a related field
    • Experience with project management and data and/or business analytics
    • Experience working in consulting or financial sectors

    The Healthcare Management Consultant Team serves a diverse array of clients including health insurance companies, state government agencies, healthcare providers, and healthcare purchasers. Our team works side-by-side with clients, drawing on our expertise, skills, tools, and data to help clients solve business challenges. You will work in a matrix environment, learning from seasoned consultants and gaining exposure to projects across a range of clients and engagement types. Our consultants are solution-focused leaders who help clients develop and implement strategies for protecting and growing profitable market share, diversifying their businesses, and leveraging their assets.

    Location

    The person hired for this role will work in a dynamic, hybrid environment, with 2 to 3 days per week of on-site work required in our Indianapolis office on a weekly basis.

    Compensation

    The overall salary range for this role is $65,200 - $104,200. A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc. In addition, we offer a performance-based bonus-plan, profit sharing, and generous benefits.
