Summary:

This position is with our Fabrication team. This role will fabricate, assemble, install, and repair production sheet metal products and equipment-such as control boxes, drainpipes, ventilators, and furnace casings-in accordance with blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Responsibilities include creating sheet metal layouts, setting up and operating fabricating machinery, shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms, operating welding and soldering equipment, and inspecting assemblies and installations for compliance with specifications. This position may also monitor and verify quality using statistical process or other control procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned work efficiently and accurately.

  • Train in new methods and advanced technologies as provided by the company.

  • Work independently and make sound decisions to complete assignments.

  • Train other employees within the same job classification.

  • Enter and retrieve data from the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or Process Plants Data.

  • Order and requisition parts required to accomplish assigned tasks.

  • Input data as directed by a higher-grade employee or manager (excluding duties related to material support technician functions such as inventory, storage, or issuing materials).

  • Work in compliance with all local, state, and federal codes, regulations, blueprints, specifications, and trade practices.

  • Maintain any licenses or certifications required by applicable codes and regulations.

  • Assist in researching, developing, and implementing new technologies and recommending related training to management.

  • Contribute to design and calculation work using relevant codes, engineering and design specifications, and acquired knowledge.

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) as assigned.

Level A Responsibilities
  • Assist with root cause analysis to support reliability processes and collaborate with vendors, engineering, team leaders, customers, and other crafts to develop corrective actions.

  • Partner with other departments and specialties to provide reliability failure analysis and problem resolution for assets and systems.

  • Communicate and coordinate activities with customers, engineers, suppliers, and others to ensure continued operation and timely repair of plant and equipment.

  • Demonstrate special knowledge in systems controls.


Qualifications

Required:

  • All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks.
  • Must be able to work on concrete floors, uneven surfaces, and in confined spaces, as well as walk on open floor beams, climb on stairs/scaffolding, crawl/kneel in workstation, and lift/move parts and/or tools.
  • The main tasks of the position consist of constant drilling, bucking and riveting for an 8-hour shift along with overtime as needed by production needs
  • The physical demands of the position include standing, squatting, kneeling, crawling, reaching, lifting, pulling, overhead work, fine hand and finger manipulation, and related physical tasks necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position as set out above.
  • Experience working with all sheetmetal tools.
