Communications and Marketing develops and implements strategies and tactics for showcasing and raising the visibility of the university's experts, initiatives, and accomplishments. It manages media inquiries and interviews with senior university leadership and produces print and online publications to showcase the university.
George Washington University is seeking a Communications and Marketing Manager,
SMPA &
TSPPPA, to support the strategic priorities of the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences' (
CCAS) School of Media and Public Affairs and Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration.

The Communications and Marketing Manager,
SMPA &
TSPPPA position is responsible for executing a comprehensive communications and marketing plan that advances the priorities and goals of the schools and serves to engage current and prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, and peer institutions. The manager reports to the
CCAS Communications and Marketing Executive Director while serving as a strategic partner to the directors of the two schools to build brand awareness, elevate reputation and rankings, recruit and retain a highly-qualified and diverse student body, and strengthen affinity among alumni and prospective donors.
The manager will help shape and iterate messaging across communications channels, including social media, websites, newsletters, and marketing collateral. The position will also work with the school's senior leadership on messaging and critical internal communications, as well as speeches, talking points, and video content to engage and inform key stakeholders. The manager will also build and maintain close relationships with faculty to identify and promote high-impact research and innovations in the classroom.

| Minimum Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |

- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Experience with strategic communications, social media outreach, marketing campaigns, multimedia, programming, leadership communications, and working in an academic setting is strongly preferred.
