Summary of Job Duties:Join our team at the Family Medical Center in Batesville as an Access Coordinator II! We are seeking passionate individuals committed to delivering outstanding customer service and supporting patients throughout their registration and appointment process. Under supervision, you'll play a crucial role in managing our clinic's patient resources and ensuring precise data collection. Your main responsibilities will include serving as a patient resource for all registration activities and maintaining comprehensive patient data, such as demographics, insurance details, eligibility, and pharmacy information. This role also involves collecting copays, coinsurance, and statement payments. Additionally, you will facilitate scheduling and patient information requests in accordance with UAMS - North Central workflows and policies. Candidates must be able to perform all duties of an Access Coordinator I and support patient care activities as needed. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Two (2) years of customer service or healthcare experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to follow oral instructions, read, and write.
  • Computer/basic keyboard skills
  • Telephone etiquette skills.
  • General knowledge of office machines, including printers and scanners.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience in registration or scheduling in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience with EPIC Systems.
  • Spanish interpreter.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of healthcare insurance eligibility.

Customer Service

  • Meets, greets, and assists the public, and answers telephones in a professional and friendly manner. Demonstrates effective communication skills. Communicates accurate and complete information, maintains strict confidentiality. Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments. Follows the Circle of Excellence Guidelines. Promotes guest relations by frequently offering to assist other employees when needed. Office Duties/Supply

  • Schedules, reschedules, and coordinates appointments using the hospital systems by performing visit notifications of patients; conducts pre-registration as needed. Inputs and/or updates accurate patient information. Processes walk-ins, creates new patient charts, and accesses systems for orders as appropriate. Conducts insurance verification and benefit explanation by running eligibility on patients, requests outside records, and gathers outside medical records from referrals, and files patient charts as needed. Collects and posts payments and issues receipts. Responsible for reconciliation/management of change fund. Inventory, order, and stock supplies, clean and maintain equipment. Pick-up and deliver mail to mailroom, ensure the waiting room is clean, stocked with educational information and coffee.

Professional Development

  • Attends required hours of training and/or in-services. Attends staff meetings and participates in the orientation and/or training of new staff. Participates in annual educational needs and assessment. Maintains required job skill competencies and completes skill assessment annually. Completes and maintains documentation of continuing education hours annually.
