Position Summary

EBI Consulting is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer with strong experience in Active Directory domain administration, IT Security systems configurations and best practices, and Microsoft 365 services to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, securing, and optimizing enterprise systems and cloud-based collaboration platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance.

The Systems Engineer will report to the Director, Network and Operations. EBI has adopted a hybrid work model that allows for a combination of remote and in-office work. The successful candidate for this position will be expected to work both remotely and in the office as required, and therefore will need to be located within commutable distance of our corporate headquarters in Burlington, MA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Manage and improve EBI security which includes managing Microsoft, Rapid7 and Mimecast
  • Maintain up to date security which includes patching vulnerabilities by deploying patches or making configuration changes
  • Administer and maintain Active Directory, In-Tune, Patch My PC, Rapid7, SonicWall Firewalls, Bitdefender AV, Mimecast and KnowBe4
  • Assist in managing and supporting Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Intune
  • Improve and maintain security policies for identity and access management across hybrid environments
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across Windows Server infrastructure and M365
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise applications and integrations
  • Maintain documentation for systems architecture, configurations, and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in on-call rotation and incident response as needed



Qualifications and Capabilities



  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering and managing SaaS applications
  • Proven experience as a Domain Administrator in enterprise environments
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 and Rapid7 administration and configuration
  • Familiar with NIST and implementing security best practices
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and security best practices
  • Experience with hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102, AZ-104, SC-300) preferred
  • Experience with Azure AD, Conditional Access, and Modern Malware Protections preferred
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) preferred
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions preferred

The reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. The salary range describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position across applicable US locations. This position may also be eligible for a bonus whereby total compensation may exceed base salary depending on individual performance. The actual compensation offered will be based on a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to; geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements, knowledge, skills/level, qualifications and budget.
