Salary: $90,000 - $105,000

SEG, an Astrion company, supports the US Navy and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) by performing trade studies, design prototyping, and analysis of radars, electronic warfare systems, and weapon systems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • The candidate must be a US citizen and have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance.
  • Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor of Science degree in technical disciplines such as Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • 0-4 years of experience
  • Practical knowledge of developing/testing and validating Machine Learning models.
  • Fundamental knowledge of radar or digital signal processing techniques and concepts
  • Experience or coursework in sensor systems, electromagnetic theory, or digital signal processing (DSP)
  • Proficiency in Python, Pytorch or TensorFlow for modeling, simulation, and data analysis
  • Proficiency in MATLAB for modeling, simulation, and data analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The engineer will be expected to prioritize new simulation tool capabilities while maintaining existing ones.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Master's Degree with emphasis on Radar/Wireless digital signal processing and Machine Learning Modeling.
  • Active Secret Clerance and ability to be onsite during working hours due to the nature of the work.
  • Experience in designing, testing and deploying production level ML models
  • Experience performing radar system performance prediction, and data analysis
  • 3+ years of radar/digital signal processing experience, including machine learning based backbone development to solve real world RF signature generation, test, and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of Electromagnetic/RF propagation and superposition phenomenon's
  • Prior experience with sensor HW design, signal processing, tracking algorithms, and/or resource management
  • Experience in development of simulation and test tools for sensor analysis

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a Junior Machine Learning Modeling -Digital Signal Processing and engineer to support the development and execution of radar simulation, add new machine learning based capabilities to existing simulations and RF signature tools. Deliver the simulations to both support internal analysis and as inclusion in deliverable simulations to our government customers and end-users. The engineer will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, demonstrating the capability to customers and stakeholders, and potentially leading a team of engineers and software developers to design and develop these simulation solutions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with experienced engineers and develop expertise in radar systems, electromagnetic modeling, and advanced signal processing.
