The Opportunity The Strategy Design for Health Literacy plays a critical enterprise-building role in advancing Genentech's Population Health goals through clear, culturally grounded, and functionally accessible health communication. Operating within the Population Health Center of Excellence, this individual leads the design, piloting, and scaling of health literacy infrastructure - ensuring that both internal and external stakeholders have the tools, systems, and training needed to enable understanding and action across the healthcare continuum. Reporting to the Strategy and Innovation Head, this role is responsible for shaping and embedding enterprise-wide capabilities that span the full spectrum of Genentech's communications, from patient-facing materials and clinical study content to internal employee training and operational standards. This leader is accountable for ensuring Genentech's health education efforts are accurate, understandable, and impactful, grounded in both regulatory standards (working closely with cross-functional Regulatory, Legal and Compliance partners) and real-world patient needs. This role partners closely with Communications, Learning & Development, Population Science, CMG, gRED, PD, Pharma Technical, People and Culture, and Medical Affairs to drive adoption across Genentech's enterprise. With a dual focus on strategy and execution, the Strategy Design - Health Literacy will also advise leadership on how to measure impact and scale sustainably, ensuring that health literacy is not just a project - but a permanent practice embedded across business functions. As the capability matures, this leader will partner with enterprise functions to identify long-term ownership pathways and ensure the sustainability of health literacy efforts. Location and Travel Requirements The position is located in South San Francisco. The position requires up to 25% time traveling. This role is eligible to sit remotely. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $168,400 - 312,700. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
