DESCRIPTION

As a member of our Facilities Planning, Design, and Construction Team, this position serves a critical financial processing function that supports the financial integrity of our capital construction projects portfolio. This position primarily serves an analyst function and will perform a variety of duties throughout the lifecycle of projects, including, but not limited to financial transaction processing, data analysis, reporting, and partnership to UCSD Health Finance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Weekly and monthly account processing and reporting, labor and non-labor processing and recharges, reconciliations, and project close-out. Provide guidance to team members on all financial processing functions.
  • Data collection and entry, transaction quality checks and approval, process integrity maintenance, and systems integration maintenance.
  • Relationship building and collaboration with primary partners: UCSD Health Finance, FPDC Contracting, UCSD Campus Capital Program Management, Capital Planning, various Architecture and Construction Contractor firms.
  • Help train staff and create effective teamwork environment. May oversee staff within role and operation.
  • Assess and recommend to management changes as needed to ensure financial processes maintain compliance with federal and state requirements and internal financial/audit policies. Implement process changes in collaboration with and in accordance to UCSD Health Finance policies. Document procedures for financial activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Successful candidates will exhibit strong communication skills across a variety of mediums and platforms, a desire and intuition for problem-solving, an interest in learning, and the ability to collaborate across various functions and UCSD Health departments to achieve organizational objectives.

This position will undertake process analysis and improvement work in the form a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt project.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training.
  • Experience and/or knowedge working in healthcare construction.
  • Experience and/or knowedge with Trimble Unity Construct construction management software.
  • Experience and/or knowedge with Premier Connect.
  • Experience and/or knowedge with Oracle Financial Cloud.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software.
  • Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in a heavily matrixed organization
  • Experience working with capital construction projects

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $71,600 - $127,400 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $34.29 - $61.02

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
