As an Electronics Trade Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive classroom and on-the-job training instruction in the electronics trade to incarcerated individuals. You will be involved in instructing inmates about standard practices, methods, and procedures used in the maintenance and repair of various electronic, electrical, and mechanical devices. You will also maintain order and discipline among the inmates during their work assignments and in the classroom. In this position, it will be essential that you document thoroughly all aspects of inmates' progress, attendance, and assignments. Additionally, you will supervise and guide inmates in completing work orders and electronic projects. Furthermore, you will plan and manage the daily schedules of the inmates and inspect their completed work assignments.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirement:

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
