Position Summary

The Research Associate will contribute to basic and translational immunology research within the Wieland Laboratory, focusing on the molecular mechanisms of T cell function, tumor immunology, and immune regulation in cancer. The incumbent will work under the direction of Dr. Andreas Wieland to design, perform, and analyze experiments using cell culture, flow cytometry, molecular biology, and mouse tumor models to explore immune mechanisms relevant to cancer immunotherapy.

Duties and Responsibilities

Design and execute experiments related to tumor immunology and immune checkpoint regulation.

Conduct in vitro assays including flow cytometry, cytokine quantification, and molecular cloning.

Analyze experimental data using quantitative software and contribute to manuscript and grant preparation.

Maintain detailed laboratory records and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Train and assist junior laboratory personnel, students, and staff in experimental techniques.

Collaborate with other PIIO and OSUCCC research teams to advance immune-oncology projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in biological sciences, immunology, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 1 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.

Experience with standard molecular and cell biology laboratory techniques.

Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data with attention to detail.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree or higher in immunology, cancer biology, or related discipline.

Experience with mouse models of cancer and/or immune function studies.

Proficiency in flow cytometry, RNA/DNA extraction, and molecular cloning.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
