Recreational Therapist Opportunity:
Full Time

The Ridge Behavioral Health System is a 110-bed hospital located in the heart of the Bluegrass, Lexington, KY. The Ridge provides psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. The Ridge offers Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Programs, Individual Counseling, as well as Medication Management for all ages. We have provided behavioral health services to over 92 Kentucky counties for more than 39 years.

The Recreational Therapist is responsible for developing and implementing various aspects of the recreational therapy program based upon each units needs and demographics

Job Duties Include:

  • Develops and implements recreational therapy treatment plans in conjunction with and attends the interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
  • Provides therapy consistent with level of growth, development, age, and functioning.
  • Contributes to program design within the recreational therapy department.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation required.

Certifications/Licensure

  • Certification as a CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist) required.
  • Crisis intervention training is required and is offered upon hire.
  • CPR is required and offered upon hire.

Experience

  • Previous mental health experience preferred.
  • Inpatient experience preferred.
