Overview

Responsibilities

As a Battery and Power Subject Matter Expert with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:

    Advise top Pentagon leadership on energy issues.
  • Support the Office of Critical Technologies as it guides and supports modern research and analysis of strategic power and battery initiatives.
  • Represent USD R&E on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in Government-approved conferences and forums in addition to specific USD R&E projects.
  • Assist, prepare and conduct meetings for current energy issues.
  • Conduct battery and power research analysis.
  • Develop and coordinate concepts and requirements for the application of current and emerging technologies as they apply to DoD's R&E program.
  • Assist and prepare presentations and reports to DoD leadership and outside DoD.
  • Track the department-wide budget for efforts aligning with battery and power.
  • Maintain and update modernization roadmaps, coordinate roadmaps with key stakeholders.
  • Make recommendations to the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) pertinent to mission needs and technical capabilities.


Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience of engineering, energy, and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E)
  • Master's degree in STEM and minimum of 5-years recent experience in energy storage
  • TS/SCI Clearance

Previous experience with:

  • Department of Defense RDT&E mission and processes.
  • Engineering, analysis of alternatives, integration, requirements, and testing.
  • Power and Battery programs.
  • Excellent writing, communication and briefing.
