Position Overview The Toolmaker A works to repair and maintain plastic injection mold tools, varying from single cavity low volume tomulti-cavity high volume molds. This routinely includes disassembly and cleaning of complex molds, some of whichcan exceed thousands of pounds in weight and require lifting by an overhead crane to tables in the Toolroom, whereintricate and often delicate or expensive components are removed for inspection, repair, and cleaning. Setups to thecorrect plastic product configuration are done by the Toolmaker, who works with other Toolmakers includingapprentices on jobs scheduled by priority. Troubleshooting of molding visual defects or dimensional issues may bedone on the bench or in the presses to determine next steps and make corrections as needed. Some fabrication orrepair may be done on components using toolroom equipment including use of a lathe, mill, EDM machine, grinders,etc. Shift:2nd shift M-F Schedule: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM Pay rate: $40.50-$52/hr Reasonable Accommodations Statement To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Qualifications
Education: Degree or diploma for 2-year machine trades program Experience: Two - Five years' experience in assembly and reassembly of molds with thorough knowledge &understanding of tooling, tool room practices, and fabricating techniques Specific skills: Mechanical aptitude, ability to accurately trouble shoot and problem solve, strong organizational and mathematical skills.
