Job Description

Scope:

Working under the general supervision of management, this position has a broad scope of responsibility for performing complex tasks. The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible to support Quality Engineering activities in the organization, to provide leadership on structured problem-solving teams and to proactively promote and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the TTM 9CI standardized Continuous Improvement Toolbox to drive performance improvements.
  • Manage the Customer Satisfaction, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, 6S/Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Jidoka/Andon, Zero Defect program, 8D Problem Solving, Quality Alerts, and Design of Experiments
  • Responsible in the development of the Zero-Defect approach and to execute a reduction in customer quality escapes and complaints
  • Lead and support 8D Problem solving activities associated with escalated internal and customer issues (tCAP)
  • Responsible for coordinating, testing, and reporting customer required 3rd party testing and monitor testing procedures and processes to ensure tests performed are done according to item specifications, protocols and standard test methods.
  • Review supplier quality data and non-conformances. Provide dispositions of suspect supplier parts and work with the supplier/manufacture on corrective action and implementation or escape prevention through the use of quality inspection plans and quality specifications. Ensure parts and components as received for inspection in the most efficient manner while maintaining the high quality standards required
  • Work to continuously drive performance Improvement - KPI performance to Bronze rating or above in NA
  • Acts as liaison Team leader between departments and makes independent decisions to insure adherence to quality and reliability procedures
  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices across NA sites to foster a more effective and collaborative approach to growth, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Support additional projects as needed (Customer Spec Review, Engineering Projects, etc.)
  • As needed participate in internal quality audits
  • Provide training and support to the rest of the organization on the quality system, quality tools (pareto charts, SPC, structured problem solving, etc.) and related topics
  • Other related duties and assignments as required

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of IPC, MIL-31032, ISO9001/AS9100 standards and/or similar quality systems
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, including statistical data analysis and interpretation, as well as the ability to develop, implement, and drive improvement plans and project teams to successful completion
  • Strong background in the use and understanding of key manufacturing performance metrics
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; willingness to be part of a team as well as the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills to interact professionally with customers and suppliers

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related subject matter. In lieu of education, must have 5-7 years of relevant experience.

Required Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in quality or manufacturing engineering in an electronics manufacturing environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

TTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs. Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$87,492 - $145,820

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
