Test Development Engineer

At this time, SCI is recruiting highly qualified candidates whose background and career goals meet our needs for the following position in Huntsville, AL. Please note that due to Department of Defense contract requirements, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.

The Engineer's roles/responsibilities include:

• Develop test plans and requirements matrix.
• Designing test fixtures and equipment, and defining specifications and procedures fortesting new products.
• Developing automated test software using LabVIEW/TestStand.
• Assemble, bring-up, and debug new electronic designs for test equipment.
• Documenting Test Procedures.
• Perform Verification and Validation activities, to include Gage R&R reports.
• Transition test solutions from a development to a sustaining production environment.
• Technically communicate well with internal and external customers and vendors.

To be considered for this position, a candidate will possess, and demonstrate, the followingeducation, skills, experience and characteristics:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College in Electrical Engineering,
• Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, IT, or Computer Science.
• 0-5 years of functional test development experience.
• Due to our Government contracts, the candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
• Familiar with standard electronic test and measurement equipment.
• Ability to read an electrical schematic.
• Experience using LabVIEW/TestStand, c++, or Python software development packages.
• Must be highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn new technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good communication skills, and ability to work in a team
• Comfortable with at-a-desk design, hands-on laboratory work, and interfacing withmanufacturing.
• Ability to demonstrate relationship building skills and be comfortable interacting withtechnical professionals.
• Effective, concise and clear communication to management on status of projects.
• Collaborating in a team environment to develop new test solutions.
• You will be expected to support a product's Electro-Mechanical test design activity fromrequirements definition through implementation, validation, and production release.
• You will be expected to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision.
• Experience with Altium Designer or other ECAD design software a plus.
• Experience with SolidWorks or other MCAD design software a plus.
• RF Experience is a definite plus.
• Experience with test software development using LabVIEW/TestStand is a definite plus.
• Experience with VOIP, RS-232, RS-422, MIL-STD-1553, IEEE-1394, and/or Ethernetnetworking is a definite plus.
