Role Description & Responsibilities

Our Digital Marketing web development team is looking for a Six Month intern to build on their digital design skills and gain practical work experience as part of an Agile development team. This role is a hybrid work schedule located in our Waltham, MA office and remote.

Our customer facing websites are powered by content management systems, API's, and static HTML. We thrive on learning new technologies to create exciting website designs and optimal user experiences. As a Front-end developer, you will be working on critical parts of the website ecosystem to ensure we maintain compliance with accessibility and sustainability without sacrificing performance. A strong sense of design and interest in providing the best possible user experience are an important part of this role.

This position will require utilizing your web development skills to develop first-class on-line solutions while working with project managers to determine the technical scope of project requirements and in turn, assisting in defining the technical tasks to be assigned to the development team.

Some knowledge of the following areas is invaluable:
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

  • Knowledge of responsive design, accessibility standards and CSS frameworks (Tailwindcss, Bootstrap, material design)

  • Strong interest or exposure to usability principles and UX design

  • Familiarity with BEM methodologies, modules bundles, linters, front-end frameworks

  • Strong understanding of graphic design software for the web

The following areas are not required but nice to have:
  • Basic understanding of back-end technologies and databases

  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git

Qualifications
  • Actively enrolled in a college or university with a focus in web development technologies or Graphic Design for the duration of the internship

  • Takes direction and guidance from others, adopts and develops best practices and navigates around obstacles creatively

  • Highly motivated, able to shift directions quickly when priorities change

  • Exhibits strong organizational skills and detail orientation

  • Ability to work independently and/or within a collaborative team structure
